I have contacted their support and if I receive a response before this question is answered it will be updated. Now adding a normal web reference I have followed the article at MSDN: How to add a reference to a web service and question here on SO at How to add a Web reference Visual Studio 2012. However for the UPS APIs when following this method, the following error is received: There was an error downloading \'https://wwwcie.ups.com/webservices/Void/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/$metadata\'. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found. Now on the UPS Development Community forum, there was a similar question to this available here. However, their solution was to use the sample projects provided by UPS with the web references already in them and edit it. This solution isn\'t effective if I am to consume the web reference in an existing application. Additional information, UPS does provide WSDL files in the development package. I\'m hesitant to follow the approach of adding them because between development and production, the URLs to the web services change. If this could be a solution, would you mind explaining the life cycle of the WSDL from development and production and how the URLs can be configurable. From this link, I figured out if am getting the garbage characters, while using telnet command from another remote machine, it means port 3306 is open to the outside world. I figured out from this link that if I modify /etc/my.cnf to include skip-networking, it will block all the outside connections to the port 3306. My question is, I have a program running which connects to the MySQL server (in which I am getting the brute force attacks) using a certain username and password (The username is not root). If I include the above line (skip-networking) in my.cnf file, will it affect my current running program?

mysql update on opensuse References When running openSUSE 12.3, the updater pops up with mysql/mariadb updates available. Being a trusting person, I always update whenever any update is offered. I have spent the day regretting this decision. I have found that when the mysql daemon is started it promptly changes the file permissions of some very important files and directories. For instance it changes the owner and group to mysql:mysql for the directory /usr, /usr/bin and all the files in /usr/bin. This impacts the system dramatically, like not being able to use su or sudo. Also found that it did similar things in /etc. I have disabled the system starting the mysql daemon and am now trying to repair the damage. Can anyone tell me how to stop this behaviour as I am now reluctant to start the daemon again as I suspect it will change all the file permissions back again.

I should have made changes name server provided by registrar or made changes to /etc/hosts. But right now both doesn\'t contain any entries like that.

I want to hide Apache version for better security. I tried this in /etc/apache2/conf.d/security: ServerTokens Prod ServerSignature Off After reloading Apache, the server still print its version : Apache2 / 2.2.22 (Ubuntu). No other same directives exist in other files somewhere else in the system. How can I debug/fix this ? Many thanks

First I created a bunch of directories with files in them: seq 10 | while read dir; do mkdir dir$dir touch dir$dir/file.txt seq 5 | while read file; do touch dir$dir/file${dir}_$file done done Then I tried following find command: $ find -type f -name \"*.txt\" ./dir6/file.txt ./dir8/file.txt ./dir10/file.txt ... Works as expected. Now with an -exec: $ find -type f -name \"*.txt\" -exec sh -c \'echo mv -v \"${0%/*}\" ../bar\' {} \\; mv -v ./dir6 ../bar mv -v ./dir8 ../bar mv -v ./dir10 ../bar ... Works as expected. Now the actual command: $ find -type f -name \"*.txt\" -exec sh -c \'mv -v \"${0%/*}\" ../bar\' {} \\; `./dir6\' -> `../bar/dir6\' It stops after the first mv. No error message. Exit status is 0. The directory bar exists and dir6 is moved correctly. When I execute again this happens: $ find -type f -name \"*.txt\" -exec sh -c \'mv -v \"${0%/*}\" ../bar\' {} \\; `./dir8\' -> `../bar/dir8\' Again stop after the first mv. Exit status is 0. dir8 is moved correctly. Why does find stop after the first mv? Because the directory is moved and find is confused? Why does it not print an error or return an error exit status? When I create more directories and more files it has the same behaviour. In the question linked above the problem is that find executes once without problem but print errors for all matches after that. Is this related? Using find (GNU findutils) 4.4.2.
